Office 365 is now officially Microsoft 365
Although, the Office name will live on referring to the “Office Apps” you install on your computer, just look the good old days of Microsoft Office (You can still buy Office 2019 perpetually too!).
As mentioned in the video, here is the list of changes to the business subscription names. Pricing and inclusions remain unchanged for the moment, but let’s see what happens.
Office 365 Business Essentials is now Microsoft 365 Business Basic (Online Services Only)
Office 365 Business Premium is now Microsoft 365 Business Standard (Online Services + Office)
Office 365 Business is now Microsoft 365 Business Premium (Online Services + Office + Extra Security)
Office 365 Business is now Microsoft 365 Apps for business (Office + OneDrive)

TRANSCRIPT
Hi guys, Rob here from ServiceScaler. Did you know that as of today Office 365 is now rebranded and renamed Microsoft 365. What does that actually mean? Well, not a great deal. The only thing at the moment that’s changed is just the name. Microsoft 365 refers explicitly to cloud services and cloud productivity provided by Microsoft. These things include Exchange Online, SharePoint, your Teams application and other office productivity tools that are hosted in the cloud by Microsoft. The Office name will live on. So, now instead of referring to Office 365, Microsoft uses the Office name specifically for its Office apps, as in, the applications you install on your computer. So think of things like Outlook and Word and Excel and PowerPoint. The other thing that they’ve changed is just some of the names around their subscriptions. So previously we had Office 365 subscriptions, Home editions and Business editions, and they had different names and different pricing and different inclusions. They’ve all now changed to reflect the Microsoft 365 branding and there’s been a few name changes there as well. What I’m going to do is up in the post above I’ll provide a list of what they were previously and what they are now, so you have some idea of what the new names of those applications or those subscriptions are, and if you do have any questions about that you can always reach out to me via DM or contact info in my profile. Cheers.
