A quick video on the potential implications of working from home when your business model, processes and practices are not well aligned to working this way.

TRANSCRIPT

Hi guys, Rob here from ServiceScaler Today’s video is to quickly touch on everybody rushing to work from home and what the potential implications are to your business. Now with the coronavirus everybody, including ourselves, have been panicking and rushing to make sure that we can get our staff home so that they can continue to work. What we’re not thinking about in this process is all of our critical business functions. Now in IT businesses it’s very simple, our businesses were designed to be completed from anywhere, so all of our critical business functions can be done from home. What I’m seeing a lot, particularly across my social media platforms, is that everybody’s getting very excited about doing video conferencing and being able to connect and communicate. It is the most important thing, particularly with your clients, to be able to communicate with them But what you can’t forget in this process is that if you don’t have the tools to be able to complete all of your business processes efficiently, the loss in productivity during this period is potentially going to be very high and your business is going to be very dysfunctional. Now, everybody’s coming out saying that it’s business as usual, it’s business as usual. I can tell you now that for most businesses that I’ve worked with it’s not business as usual. It’s a little bit business as “unusual”. You can make this better with the implementation of some technology and consulting, and aligning your business processes and practices to something that more-so reflects the IT industry, and the way that we do things. If you’d like a hand with any of that, feel free to reach out to me by DM, or you can give me a call contact info in my profile. Thanks very much.
